Viseu

Viseu is a city in the Central region of Portugal, in the former province of Beira Alta. Its medieval historic centre is dominated by the cathedral (Sé de Viseu) and the Grão Vasco National Museum, which houses works by the Renaissance painter Vasco Fernandes. The city has notable religious and civil heritage, including the Misericórdia church and the Palace of the Three Stairs. Its location provides access to the Dão vineyards and nearby mountains such as Serra do Caramulo.
