Inês lived in the Palace of the Convent of Santa Clara-a-Velha, where she received the love letters Pedro wrote. Legend has it that he used to send her his love letters through a small pipe carried away by the waters from Quinta do Pombal springs - today Quinta das Lágrimas - to the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha.
The tense relation between Portugal and Castile Kingdoms would lead to a really tragic end of this eternal love story.
